This is one of my very early maps from Far Cry and I don't remember what I originally wrote about it so here's what Planet Far Cry said:

Map of the Week #4 - Colosseum
Written by:Ryan Jones
The smell of blood stained dirt fills the air as you walk up the ramp to the monolithic stadium. A cacophony of cheers erupts as you enter the Colosseum. This will be your deathbed.
Fast-forward hundreds of years. The crowds are gone, but the arena still remains. The blood has been washed from the floor, but the distant gunfire promises to paint the ground a fresh coat of red. Even the centuries could not erase theColosseum's tradition of death.
SugarMomma’s incredible recreation of Rome’s famous Coliseum is a visual marvel. The atmosphere makes me wish there were additional melee weapons in the game. To top it all off, scattered buildings around the Coliseum insure that gameplay does not become monotonous.
Visuals & Feel – 9.3
The main structure of Colosseum is a visual feast. It is a good size and makes the player feel insignificant. The surrounding buildings all look very realistic and add to the overall feel of the map. Without them, the centerpiece would become boring quickly.
Gameplay – 8.7
Predator mode is the best for Colosseum. The other game modes are still quite fun, but trying to invade the predator’s area is a real hoot. Driving ATVs out of the pit in the center of the Coliseum and through the arches adds a bit of fun if stealing samples and slaying enemies becomes tedious.
Balance – 8.8
The predator mode is very well balanced. The only issue with balance, which is minor, for all four modes is the height advantage given on the second level of the Coliseum. However, this is addressed to a degree by the large size of the arena.
Overall – 8.8
